start outlook without auto-send receive?

    Question

  • When helping someone with outlook problems I often want to start without send/receive happening (that option is almost always turned on). If I'm there I can unplug or disable network connection. If I'm working on it remotely obviously I can't do that. Command line options don't list this. Anyway to do this?

  • It didn't work real well. <g> You could go offline - but you'd need ot edit the registry. (Or use a reg file.) In Outlook 2010 the key is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\[profile_name]\0a0d020000000000c000000000000046 00030398 - 1 is offline, 2 is online. It should be the same for 2007.
