Outlook not responding

    Question

  • Hi there,

I am having a bit of trouble with outlook as soon as I want to forward a massage it gives me an outlook not responding error and eventually closes the program.

    I've tried outlook.exe /resetnavpane,

    I've created a new profile,

    I've deleted outcmd.dat,

    I've repaired and reinstall office,

    I've repaired the pst....

    Anything else I can try?

It seems to be working fine in save mode..

    Hi,

If outlook works normally in safe mode, I think you can try to disable some add-ins.

    Outlook 2010

    1. File-> section Options-> section Add-Ins
    2. At the "Manage" dropdown list at the bottom select which type of add-ins you would like to enable/disable
    3. Press "Go…" and make the changes
    4. For some add-ins you’ll need to restart Outlook for changes to take effect.

Note: See this post if you get an error when trying to disable an add-in.

  • This is a chronic problem with Outlook. It was not fixed in 2003, 2007 or apparently 2010.

Where do I find add ins for 2003 since I've had this issue for years with my outlook 2003. (I work from home for myself so there's no great need to upgrade since I see no new features I would use Office which is aimed at corporate users)

I don't have an add in tab on my options.....
