  • To remove this error, for all Office 2010 applications:
    1. Open Options Dialog;
    2. Click Quick Access Toolbar ;
    3. Click Reset button, Reset All Customizations .
    4. Restart the Application.

    Note that this will remove any customization you may be done to the Ribbon. For majority of users, it is not a problem.

    I was getting the same error for Word and Outlook 2010 beta.  I tried this fix.  It works.  I don't get the error message anymore.

    Thanks.

  • This also worked for me with Outlook and Word 2010 (upgrades from the 2010 Beta). You will need to reset the Ribbon for EACH application / Window. For me I needed to do it in Outlook (main window), Outlook (New Message window) and Word.

    Note:
    If you have heavily customized your Ribbon, make a note of where everything is on it BEFORE you reset it ... otherwise you'll spend ages trying to remember what went where ... trust me - I just did it ;-)

    Thanks Rodrigo,

    Michael

  • This fix worked for me  - Going into the individuals windows that produce the message and resetting each one.

  • I'm getting a bunch of these error messages when I start Outlook 2016, and this solution didn't work for me. The error message is:

    Error found in Custom UI XML of "iCloud Outlook Add-In"

    I called Apple support, but they were unable to solve the problem. I use this add-in to synchronize calendars, contacts, and reminders between my iPhone and Outlook. I could eliminate the messages by simply disabling the add-in, but that synchronization is a really nice feature that I've been using for a few years now, and I'd hate to lose it.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

    Managed to resolve this (although not sure if it's just hiding an issue) by doing the following -

    In Outlook go to file > options
    Select Advanced
    Scroll down the Developers section near the bottom
    Untick 'Show add-in user interface errors'
