Duplicate Item Calendar in Calendars Overlay RRS feed

All replies

  • Hi Ameenah,

The default Calendar view shows all the events, then you're adding all the filtered views with colors on top of it.

To remove the duplicates, do the following:

1.From the main "Calendar" view, click "Modify this View"
2.In the Filter section, select the column/category you filtered the overlay views by and choose "is equal to"
3.Leave the Value field blank and click OK

Since you're already filtering on this selected column to create the color overlays we can assume that column/category will always have a value in it. This new filter on the top-level "Calendar" view removes any events which do not have a value assigned already. Adding an event without a value will allow it to appear in the calendar still, but will not add it to any of the other color-filtered views. As a safety measure, you can simply require a value for that column/category.

    Hi Ameenah,

Overlaying multiple SharePoint calendar lists allows you to process the calendar data on a single view.

Eg: You have calendar1 and calendar2, you add calendar2 as an calendar overlay in calendar1,you can choose an color:

After add calendar2 as an calendar overlay in calendar1, you will also see all of the events from both calendar1 and calendar2 in the calendar1.
