Attachments in Outlook 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good afternoon everyone,

When we preview an attachment in an Outlook message, in the Attachments – Attachment Tools tab, the Send To button is for what?

    Can someone help me?

The version of Office is 2016, and the operating system is Windows 10.

Thank you in advance to all,

    Helio

  • Hi Helio,

I'm running Office 2016 on my PC, however, I don't find such a "Send To" button when I preview an attachment in Outlook 2016. See:

Do you have any third party add-in associated with Outlook client, which might insert this button on the ribbon?

Is it possible to capture a screenshot, and share it here for reference?

    Regards,

    Ethan Hua

  • Hello Ethan,

    Thank you for your answer.

That's weird. In my version of Office 2016 the button appears:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/949453

I think it isn’t no add-in, because I disabled all of them, and the Sent To button still appears.

Can you help me understand what does this button do? :)

    Greetings,

    Helio Laranjeira

  • Hi Helio,

I'm not able to open the following file, you can share it with us by sending it to ibsofc@microsoft.com instead:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/949453

Note, better to use the thread title as the emails subject, so it will be easy for us to identify it :-).

Also currently, I'm running Office 16.0.7369.2038, what's the exact version of your Office client? I shall verify it against the same build as yours.

    >>I think it isn’t no add-in, because I disabled all of them

To verify whether it's an add-in, try to start Outlook in safe mode and see if the mentioned button still appears:

Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.

    Regards,

    Ethan Hua

  • Hello Ethan,

I will send you a screenshot of the button by e-mail. The version of Office I’m using is Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 - 16.0.4432.1000 - 64bit.

I opened Outlook in safe mode, and the button still appears.

    Thank you for your help!

    Best regards,

    Hélio Laranjeira

  • I noticed it, will take an investigation, and get back to you soon.

    Update:

Searched all over, failed to find anything about this button. Will take a further look when I back to office tomorrow.

    Edit:

Will you see this button when preview any types of attachments or only for specific type?

    Regards,

    Ethan Hua
