install office pro 2019 and visio standard 2019 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I am trying to install Office Pro 2019 and Visio 2019 Standard on a PC.   I have created many configuration files.  I first tried installing Office Pro 2019 then Visio but Visio would error out on install.  I then tried installing Visio first and then Office Pro 2019 but the Office Pro 2019 install would just remove Visio. (I do not have Office Pro 2019 set to uninstall Visio on install) I tried many type of Channel Monthly Semi-Anuual and PerpetualVL2019 and I am using 64 bits.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    Are both Office Professional 2019 and Visio 2019 Standard one-time purchased version (Retail)?

    As far as I know, Office Professional 2019 is a retail version of Office 2019. Office Professional Plus 2019 is a volume licensed version. There are two versions of Visio 2019 Standard: Visio 2019 Standard (Volume Licensed) and Visio 2019 Standard (Retail).

    Update channel is a computer-wide setting. For Office 365 and Office 2019 products, all products installed on the computer must be using the same update channel. Which update channel you use should be determined by which version of the Office suite that you’re deploying. If you’re deploying Project and Visio along with Office, they must use the same update channel as the Office suite.

    You can try using one configuration.xml to install two products at the same time. Firstly, please completely remove all Office products from your computer.

    Take the following configuration.xml for example :

    1. To install Office Professional 2019 (Retail) and Visio 2019 Standard (Retail)

    <Configuration>
      <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Monthly">
        <Product ID="Professional2019Retail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
        <Product ID="VisioStd2019Retail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>

      <!--  <Updates Enabled="TRUE" Channel="Monthly" /> -->
      <!--  <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />  -->
      <!--  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />  -->

    </Configuration>

    2. To install Office Professional 2019 (Retail) and Visio 2019 Standard (Volume Licensed)

    <Configuration>
      <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Monthly">
        <Product ID="Professional2019Retail">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
        <Product ID="VisioStd2019Volume">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
        </Product>
      </Add>

      <!--  <Updates Enabled="TRUE" Channel="Monthly" /> -->
      <!--  <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />  -->
      <!--  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />  -->

    </Configuration>

    If you have any updates, feel free to post back to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Herb
