  • Sorry to hear that.  Maybe you should tell us exactly and completely what you're trying to do, and tell us all about what it is you're trying to connect to.  Consider asking your e-mail administrator.

  • Hi,

Does this issue occur in an internal or external network? Does it affect any other users in your organization? Please run the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer test for Exchange Server Outlook connectivity with your account and password. If it failed, please provide the complete report.

  • I had this problem today.  I know this thread is old, but I was looking for the solution.  I thought I'd share how I fixed it.

I had a computer that already had outlook installed and already had another account / profile in use and I wanted to add a 2nd profile for a 2nd email account.  The account was in a different domain and different office 365 account.

I loaded up Windows Mail, added the account in there first and it popped up the windows office 365 login box. Having successfully added it to Windows Mail, I closed Windows Mail and went back to the control panel to add a 2nd profile.  This time, it detected everything correctly and prompted me to login with Office 365 and the 2nd profile continued as normal without the error.

This fixed the issue for me.
