Outlook 2007: Deleted files are disappearing

    Question

  • I am using Outlook 2007 and Windows 7.

    When I delete an e-mail it just disappears instead of showing up in the deleted files folder (personal folder) and/or IMAP). I have checked for these files in my IMAP deleted files, IMAP trash and personal deleted files.

    Can anyone tell me where these files have gone? Could it be something in my settings?

    Thank you<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- google_ad_section_end -->

  • Hi,

    How did you delete the e-mail?just right click and select "delete"?
    Can you find the email from "deleted items" folder?
    Do you have any policy set on the folder?

    Besides,I'd like to know if you are using Exchange account on outlook? With Cached mode or online mode?
    What is the version of your exchange server?

    Restore and remove deleted items from IMAP folders

    Purge IMAP items marked for deletion

    I just click and select delete. The deleted items are not in the Outlook deleted items folder nor in my IMAP trash (logged in via webmail - SquirrellMail).

    I am not sure what version server I am using.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply.
