What setup in Sharepoint 2013 Server has replaced the "Single Server Farm" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community

It seems best practices doesn't  recommend the Sharepoint 2010 Server single server farm
setup when using Sharepoint 2013 Server.

What setup should be used in place of Sharepoint 2010 Server single server farm
when creating a Sharepoint 2013 Server farm?

        Thank you

  • what is purpose of the farm, is it a development machine or a production farm.

If dev then there should not be an issue if you have enough resources.

But for production, i think it is best if you have separate SQL server atleast.

  • Hello Waqas

In this Sharepoint 2010 Server - server farm, one  Windows 2008 Server has the DC which contains the SQL Server the other Windows 2008 Server is where Sharepoint 2010 Server resides.  This setup is the single server
farm setup for a Sharepoint 2010 Server farm (production farm).

It seems that in Sharepoint 2013  this setup is not recommended so I am wondering what is the equivalent setup in a Sharepoint 2013 server farm (production farm)?

        Thank you
