How to update a column with document library title when a document is uploaded. RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

How to update a column with document library name when a document is uploaded.

If it is via workflow, I am not able to find a way to capture document library title in workflow.

Kindly help with steps as to how this can be achieved.

    Thanks,

  • To update a Column By Uploading (only) a new or already existed document, you have to create a document template using QuickPart too.

  • Provide more information on what you should update the column with an example? You can have a calculated field or workflow to do the job.

  • One way to do this is to copy over file name to title using workflow. here is a similar thread on how to do this:

Oh, even though this is for SP2010 it's pretty much applicable for SP2016 :)

    Hope this helps.
