Office 2013 vs Office 2016 for Sharepoint 2013 Onpremise/windows7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Which version of Office would be better to work with SP2013 On premise and windows7. Would it be Office 2013 or Office 2016. Any known issues with Office 2016. Should users need any training effort or learning curve to roll out Office 2016. Please let me know.

  • Either version should work fine.  But if you want the highest level of compatibility I would suggest staying with Office 2013 until you upgrade to SharePoint 2016 and Windows 10.

  • Thanks much Paul. What if we choose Office 2016. Does it involve any training effort? Are there any features that are removed that users need to be aware of what additional training is required to help them adopt to Office 2016?

  • I'm not aware of any specific features in Office 2016 that are removed when using it with SharePoint 2013 so I don't think any specific custom training is required.

  • Thanks Paul In general when you are migrating users from Office 2010 to Office 2016 what would be the features that would require training and for users to adopt to?
