Getting favorites via MAPI RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

i'm trying to get favorite folders from office365 mailbox via mapi.

I've configured an outlook profile and can manage my favorites folder with outlook 2010.

But when i opening "Root Container\Shortcuts" or "Root Container\Favorites" with MFC MAPI tool i see nothing. Can somebody explain where i can find Favorites information with MFC MAPI please?

  • Hello,

I've found favorite mailbox folders in the "Root Container\Common Views" associated content table. The content of this table is messages with folder ENTRYID in the PR_WLINK _ENTRYID property (0x684C0102).

For favorite public folders i expect  "Root Container\Shortcuts" folder. Where root container is top level folder of message store. Those folders located at the same tree level as Top of information store.  You can test it with MFCMAPI Microsoft tool https://mfcmapi.codeplex.com

This is the forum to discuss questions and feedback for Outlook for Developers, I'll move your question to the Technet forum for Exchange Server 2010

  • Hi,

thanks for the reply. My question is not about Exchange 2010. It is about Outook MAPI.
