Missing Calendar App Icon in Teams bar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I miss calendar app Icon in Teams bar.
After implementing MS Exchange Hybrid and moved the first productive user Mailbox to Exch online, I assumed, that the Calendar App in the Teams bar is automatically appearing. But it isn't.

Users Mailbox' move-request from Exch2016 to Exch online was successful.

Another (Test-) user's Mailbox in Exch online can see the Calendar App in his Teams. (Test-User created onPrem, moved to Cloud, after that, the Mailbox was created).

    Any ideas?

    Many Thanks.
    Frank

  • Make sure the user who's Mbx was moved has Teams app installed on his machine

Please check for latest Teams client version

If needed close outlook and uninstall Teams and reinstall Teams and launch outlook

  • Hi Frank!

According to your description, I think this issue may related to the user mailbox migrate to Exchange Online.

You can run the following cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell to verify the status of the migration batch

    Get-MigrationBatch -Identity <batch name>

Then I found an official document and it refers to it is a known issue in Microsoft Teams. You can add the following User Agent Strings for MS Teams within the EWSAllowList: SkypeSpaces/* and MicrosoftNinja/*, including asterisks. For more details about this known issue, you can refer to:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/known-issues#meetings

Besides, you can check if you have added Meeting app in your global policy(Teams Admin Center> Teams apps> Setup policies> Global (Org-wide default)> click it> Pinned apps> click "+ Add apps"> "Calendar").

  • Hi,

    thanks for your reply.
I reinstalled Teams in that way you mentioned. No success.
User has E3 (with Ex online Plan 2) license and runs in Island mode (the same license as the other Test-User where it is working).

Calendar app still not seen in Teams bar.

    Regards

  • Found in Teams-Log:

"calendarSyncService: User mailbox is not discoverable"
"UserAppsStore: Skipped calendar app with isFirstParty as true. isMailboxDiscoverable: false"
"compliance requirements to ensure all meeting discussions are discoverable"

User has default meeting policy … still no Calendar app in Teams bar.

  • Hi Frank,

What is the difference between the account who can see the Calendar App and the one that can't?

Is the Teams client with the issue running Teams on a domain or non-domain joined machine?

Is Autodiscovery configured correctly (internal & external)?

  • Hi Steve,

the one who can see the Calendar App is a pure cloud user. The one who does not see the App is a migrated user (AD and AzureAD).
Teams is running on a domain joined machines (3 domain joined PCs tested with login for both users).

Autodiscovery tested successful with MS Remote Connectivity Analyzer.

Hmmm: Implementing Ex Hybrid with "Minimal Hybrid Configuration" - NOT the full Hybrid feature set ...

I can see in Ex online both mailboxes, connectivity from Internet and Intranet is OK.

Btw: AADC and SfB Hybrid works well.

  • If the user tries using Teams on the web (https://teams.microsoft.com) do they see their calendar?

  • Tested: The "pure" cloud user see the calendar app, the migrated user does NOT see the calendar app.
