Custom Actions and InfoPath RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a SharePoint List, and for that list I created a Custom Action (in SharePoint Designer 2010) to appear in the form's edit ribbon.  So far, so good.

If I Customize the Form, and modify how it looks in InfoPath 2010, I lose the custom action button that I created.  Is there any way to maintain (or re-create) the custom actions in InfoPath 2010?

  • I could be wrong, but I don't think InfoPath 2010 can have a button that fires off SharePoint custom actions. The data view web part can though. So above or below your infopath form (using the form web part) you can have data view web parts with buttons to fire off custom actions.

  • You can create a data view by clicking in an editable region inside your .aspx page. Then clicking Insert >> Data View.

  • Thanks.  This may sound stupid, but I'm not seeing the data view web part?  How do I get to it?
