We've hit at least one machine where we can not disable automatic gain control for the mic/line inputs that Lync is using.
We can not find any setting with 7 or Lync that tells the software not to attempt agc on the mic or line jacks.
Problem appears to exit both with machine's onboard realtek audio, as well as an added soundblaster card.
if there is no gui way to get this shut off, does anyone know where in the registry this feature can be killed?
As I know, in the past AC97 device, you can enable or disable Auto Gain Control from AC97 Audio Configuration.
You could also try to set the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\RTC\DeviceSettings\DeviceAGCMode
DWORD to 0. And check if it could disable AGC.
In addition, here is another
article for reference. Hope helps.
