Outlook 2007 PRF RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I cannot seem to find out how to tick both 'Download shared folders (excludes mail folders)' and 'Download Public Folder Favorites' in a PRF with cached mode turned on.

Does anybody know what I need to type to achieve this?

  • Hello ReverendJT,

By default the "Download shared non-mail folders"  is checked when you create a cached mode profile.

The best way to do this is to use the Office Customization Tool to create your PRF file.  When using it, on the Specify Exchange Server Settings section in the lower half you enable Configure Cached Exchange Mode you can check the options to Download shared non-mail folders and Download Public Folder Favorites.

If you have already deployed Outlook or you do not want your users to have the ability to change this setting you can use Group Policies to push this out.  You need the Outlook 2007 adm file in your Group Policy Editor.  Under Tools | Account Settings > Cached Exchange Mode > you can enable Download Public Folder Favorites and Download non-mail folders.
