Unicode PST File Creation Disabled RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Years ago I created an MSP file (for Office 2010) where we disabled Unicode PST file creation. We then rolled it out to 2500 PCs. Now we are in a position to use Unicode PST files however when they try to create them they get the error:

"File access denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file <<File Path>>.pst"

I was wondering if anyone knows the registry key we need to edit to enable it or if we have to do a reinstall?

  • I just figured it out:

The following DWord value next to be changed to 0x00000000 (0):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\newpstformat
