Outlook 2010 download e-mails twice RRS feed

  • Question

  • I use Outlook 2010 for my e mail and recently have had big problems. Firstly, outlook freezes when downloading the last email. Secondly, because of this outlook can only be closed properly in task manager. Thirdly, every time I open outlook, it now downloads every email I've had since this problem started, twice. This even after deleting. I have tried starting in safe mode but the problem is still there. Can anyone help please?

Answers

  • Could you tell me what the type of mail account you use? POP3, IMAP or Exchange?
How many email accounts setup in Outlook 2010?
What size of your pst file if you got it?

    We suggest you try:
    1. Logon account via OWA, check any corrupted/problematic email caused outlook download crash, if this mail is not important, delete it.

    2. Run inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe), fix any problem if exist. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497
Too large size of pst file might cause outlook running slowly, use archive function to reduce its size.

    3. If you are using POP3 account, please uncheck the option “Leave a copy of messages on the server” from “File > Account settings > select your POP3 account > More setting... > Advanced”

In addition, recreate your Outlook profile for testing is also proposed. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918\
    Hope these help.

  • If you use POP and you want to kill duplicate et the selected folder by VBA, I can recomend you this Wiki: Tworzenie własnego programu - Lekcja 1. Usunięcie duplikatów (pl-PL)

    Use translator if you want.
