Outlook 2010 - cannot read meeting invites

    Question

  • Hello,

i started to use the office 2010 beta and for some reason ever since i started using this i cant read the invites nor i can accept  them. it just comes as a long text mail where at the end the meeting details.

anyone has an idea how to solve this issue?

  • Are you using an Exchange account?  It sounds to me like the meeting request is getting damaged on the way in and so Outlook can't recognize it for what it is.  Do you see MIME encoding?

  • I am not using an exchange account. but the sender is using one. i am using pop services with gmail.
on outlook 2007 it works fine, only 2010 give me this problem.

i do see the mime encoding, and i was also trying another way of importing the ics file but couldn't do it.
any action of import / export in outlook 2010 BETA doesnt work, and crashes the program.

if i go into my gmail account or any other account i can read the meeting invite correctly.

    any suggestions?

here is how i get the meeting invite:

  • You may have other underlining issues, however I strongly belives, that part of your problem can be attributed to the fact that your runing two copies of Outlook.  It's really critical to do a "clean" install.  You can go through the process of un-installing 2010 and use 2007, however you still may have issues.  If you really, want to use Beta I would un-install Office 2010 and Office 2007 in that order then rebot, and then re-install 2010.  I think you'll notice things will work more smothly.
