Lync Presence Unknown in Co-Existence wth Ocs 2007 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Hopefully someone can please help, we are having an issue with our Lync Clients showing our OCS 2007 R2 contacts as Presence Unknown.

    Lync Client with Lync Contacts (ok)

    Lync to Lync functionality (ok)

    Lync to Ocs (ok - even with Presence Unknown)

    Ocs to Lync (ok)

    Lync/Ocs with Exchange 2010 SP1 (ok)

    Install of Lync had no issues and Ocs was updated to Cu7; both installs are Single Server.

    I dont believe its a certificate issue rather a trusted application or trust relationship on reading the presence info from Ocs 2007 R2?

    Any help appreciated,

    Tony

  • Hi,

    Managed to resolve this;

    Lync SIP domain was domain.com (secondary of ad.domain.com)
    Ocs SIP domain was ad.domain.com (secondary of domain.com)

    Told Ocs the primary SIP was domain.com

    ran Merge Ocs 2007 (no edge) just next, next finish

    Publish Topology

    Import-cslegacyconfiguration

    and Lync populated itself with BackCompatSite

    Hopefully this may help someone else;

  • Tony,

    Did you merge the legacy OCS data into the topology using Topology Builder?

  • Mike,

    The Merge feature seems to require an Edge and Director; my setup is Single Server/Standalone for Ocs and Lync.

    I have gone through the wizard several times -

    Single Edge / Stanalone (populated with OCS Server Name) then edge pool and Web Conferencing don't tally up with a single server and I cant complete the wizard.

    No Edge with SIP port of 5061 gives me an error of
    No Office Communications Server 2007 / Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Edge has been enabled for federation

    Any ideas?

  • This KB seems pretty close

    I dont have a group chat; but I do have UCMA 2 Speech and Work Flow Redist installed on the Ocs Server - which I'm guessing is installed by default?
