How to migrate asp.net database into sharepoint? RRS feed

  • Hi,

      One of my customer is having around 200 databases with huge volume of data. They are utilized by asp.net mvc application. They're having a plan to migrate 200 databases into sharepoint and want to migrate mvc to sharepoint application. What could be the best approach to follow and how to implement this requirement?

  • Hi,

    You can find out how to run your ASP.NET MVC application inside the "SharePoint environment" but not migrating the SQL Databases into SharePoint.

    The scope of MVC application and SharePoint entirely different from its perspective.

  • Keep in mind that SharePoint does not support MVC natively, thus you have to look to 3rd party solutions (https://sharepointmvc.codeplex.com/) or consider building a SharePoint App, where the MVC application is presented in an iFrame.
