This one recently worked for me. Just check %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file for *Corrupt* errors like these below:

    Checking System Update Readiness.
    Binary Version 6.1.7601.22471
    Package Version 26.0

    Checking Windows Servicing Packages

    Checking Package Manifests and Catalogs

So I tried to download and run the Windows Update KB4041681 file for Win 7 64-bit, but got a message that this update is not required for my system during the installation process.

Then I deleted all the files in %WinDir%\servicing\Packages which had KB4041681 in their names.

After reboot I just ran the Windows update again and it installed the last Security Monthly Rollup with no issues.

Hope it will help other users to solve the 800F0900 pesky error.
