No contacts are visible in Outlook either when composing messages or in the 'People' pane. RRS feed

  • Question

  • This problem has suddenly occurred today in Outlook.

When writing a new e-mail, entering a value in the 'To' box no longer displays a list of matching contacts.

When selecting the 'People' tab, the program displays an empty screen with the circling dots for a minute or so, then the screen displays the following message:

Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again or refresh the page.

If you continue to have this problem, please report it to microsoft.

The 'Report it to Microsoft' does only that but does not supply a solution; the 'Go to forums' link after reporting the problem does not go to a forum but to msn.com, which is not particularly helpful.

This is extremely frustrating, not just for the failure of Outlook, but the lack of any meaningful information or help.
