Lync Server 2010 Hybrid with Skype for Business Online and Exchange Server 2010 Hybrid with Exchange Online RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We have on-premise Exchange Server 2010, Lync Server 2010 and Sonus SBC in our company. These servers are currently configured in Hybrid scenario with Office 365. We are planning to move all users that currently on Lync Server 2012 Pool to Skype for Business Online Pool, while the user mailboxes are still reside on the on-premise Exchange Server.

How do we setup the voicemail to work in this scenario?

  • Hi AirMomo99,

Are you moving your users to SfB Online and will use Cloud PBX with PSTN Calling ?

Cloud PBX uses Azure voicemail and not exchange UM but you can use an on premises Exchange to provide voicemail but it must be Exchange server 2013 Hybrid i believe so if your using Exchange 2010 it may not work im afraid.

I wrote a blog post on this which may be useful https://ucmart.uk/2017/02/07/skype-academy-presents-cloud-pbx-voicemail-with-exchange-server-on-premises-summary/

    Thanks,

    Martin

  • If you plan to use also Cloud PBX with hybrid, you will need at least one SFB Edge and the next hop of the SFB edge should be a SFB standard server with the March 2017 server updates!
