Conditional Formatting for Strings Using Icon Set RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Excel column that has a drop-down list that contains the values Yes and No. In that column, I'd like to display an green check mark if the column value is Yes and a red X if the column value is No. I have tried using icon sets, but it expects the column value to be numeric. But I need to keep the Yes/No values so users can easily select in that column.

Anyone know how I can implement conditional formatting using icons when the col value is a string? TIA for any assistance!
