Skype for Business 2015 - Response Group stopped working

    Question

  • A Response Group has stopped working.  The Group is set to play a IVR message. When calling the Response group the call disconnects.

We have had AD issue in the IT environment in the past days, however this was resolved prior to the RG failure.  Have tried restarting the FE servers.

    Hi Mmunro2107,

you can try to change a setting in the workflow to see if it is updating without errors.

Second, is it working without the audiofile? So yes, check your Lync/Skype share if the audiofiles is present in the share. If you use DFS Replication also check if the replication is still working.

  • Hi mmunro2107,

Did the issue just happen to the specific user?

On the one hand, please check the configuration of your response group, please refer to
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398584(v=ocs.14).aspx

On the other hand, please also check if there are any event IDs in your SFB FE server, if there are any event IDs, please provide it for us to do troubleshooting.

Here is an article about how to troubleshoot Response Group:
    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Troubleshooting-for-response-groups-ca72d8f8-4054-4974-b832-4f173611bd89?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Hope this reply is helpful to you.

    Regards,

    Alice Wang

  • This has happened to me too. Two response groups will not work on a specific Skype 2015 server. All the other ones are working. I completely deleted and rebuilt one of the response groups with the same result - you can't pick up calls to it. SO it is isolated right now to one Skype 2015 FE server. But I will end up opening a call on it as this is the first I have seen other people reporting the problem. These were groups operating fine for the last couple of years. It is not the .256 patch for response groups - but may be one of the other patches in November that caused it.

    Hi John,

You can also check if there is a .net framework installed that is not supported for SfB (4.6.1) https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/dodeitte/2016/02/12/net-framework-4-6-1-and-skype-for-business-server-2015lync-server-2013/

See also my reply earlier to see if that is the case.
