Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you - Permissions are correct

    Question

  • Hi all,

Recently we did a database attach upgrade from 2010 to 2013. All went well, so it seems.

Now people are complaining that they can't edit pages even though they have permissions. They can be site owner and still get the error "sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you", no correlation ID and I can't find anything in the logs.

When the site owner goes to site settings -> page layouts and site templates. They get the same error.

It was converted from classic to claims.

Any idea on what this might be?

    The upgrade went like this.

Already existing 2013 farm with two web applications (we use full trust code). Create new web application and attach content DB.

I was thinking about running the Product configuration wizard and then making an IISRESET. Will this help?

Other have been struggling with this.

What impact will it have to turn off and on the publishing feature?

  • Hi,

Though they might have permissions but unable to edit pages, Try checking the permissions for Master pages and page layouts.

  • When you move your content database from one farm to ther, the permissions on the webapp level needs to be fixed.

    Check this:

  • The mounting of the 2010 content DB went fine and the Site collection upgrade went fine. We are able to access the old site collections in the new 2013 "mode" and the old permissions followed along.

The thing now is that if we assign permissions to new users to be site owners, they can access the site and go to site settings and so on. But if they try to edit the page or access the "page layouts and site templates" from site settings they get the "sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you" even though they "should" have permissions.

  • Hi Daniel,

Issue is might be with Authentication migration.

Check below link whether it works for you.

Mark as answer if the helps.
