Running old .xla routines in Excel 2007, and "VBA converters"

  • I am trying to run .xla routines from a 2003 book* in Excel 2007. Upon starting Excel 2007, I get the error message "Opening the VBA project in this file requires a component that is not currently installed. This file will be opened without the VBA project. For more information, search Microsoft Office Online for 'VBA converters'." Then this message appears, "Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content. This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX controls and any other programmability-related features. I have searched all over the Microsoft site and the net in general for the elusive "VBA converters", but all I find is alot of complaining about their lack of availability. Do you think that "VBA converters" are what I need, or is there another possible solution? Thanks for your help. *'Decision Making with Insight' by Sam L. Savage
