Lync Presence unknown issue RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have Lync server 2013 in our org.

    We are facing issue some users showing Presence unknown in lync client. We have checked servers is working fine.

    If am sending IM to that user am able to send only his presence not showing.

    Kindly help if you know the issue.

  • Hello Rakesh, 

    Can you confirm once again the SErvices on Lync 2013 are running fine also please check the backend Server Services , check if there is any connectivity issues are there between them if they are in different boxes, space check network check etc can also be verified , did  you attempt any certificate change recently.

    from your description above, there is something wrong about Presence Publication, Presence Subscription.

    Try to restart Lync Server services.

    Also make sure Lync Server and Lync client update to the latest version.

    On Lync client side, try to delete Lync user profile and user information on registry:

    %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\sip@domain.com

    I have checked services are fine. We have 1 month backup changed certificates on Lync servers.

  • When you say you can send im to the user but presence not showing ? what about other features like peer to peer call , escalating to a conference , application sharing is that all broken ?

    can you search the user  with the sipuri (user@domain.com) and then initate the conversation and further call etc.
