"Pin to taskbar" in Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Does there exist any way in Windows Vista to "pin program to taskbar" like in Windows 7? I am not asking about the "quick launch", because in quick launch the opened applications and the quick launch buttons are separate rather than at the same location like in Windows 7.

And in win 7, one can easily drag-drop/move pined programs on the taskbar, but in Vista it seems not possible to drag-and-drop application icons on the taskbar.

I only reverted back to Vista due to graphic card incompatibility with Win 7. Is there any way to emulate the above mentioned features in Vista?

    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Hi Bob,

This is a new feature in Windows 7 and we cannot configure it in Vista.

    More information:

    Pin down your programs

In previous versions of Windows you could pin programs to the Start menu for easy access, but with Windows 7, you can also pin programs anywhere on the taskbar. By pinning a program to the taskbar, it’s always right there in front of you so you can open it with a single click—fast and convenient.

    The new Windows 7 taskbar

Pin a program to the taskbar

  • Sorry, but no. Only "Quick Launch" is available. That's the closest thing to pinning.
