Time taken to process/send mail from Exch 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Team,

Would like to know, how much time has the Exchange 2010 server taken to process and send mail.

We have a application relaying through Exchange. Would like to know what time duration has taken from the point the Exchange mail from application and sent to the user.

    Please guide.

  • Hi

You can use something like wireshark to analyse the traffic from the machine to the server.

Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Hi,

You can take those two ways to analyze it:

    Suggestion 1:

Copy this email's message header from recipient's Outlook:

Copy it and paste in EXRCA, you will know how much time it consume between each hosts.

    Suggestion 2:

You can also use Message tracking log to check when this email arrive your server and when leave it:

    Get-TransportService | Get-MessageTrackingLog -Sender xx@xx.xx -Recipients xx@xx.xx -MessageSubject "xxx" | Sort-Object Timestamp| ft Timestamp,EventId,Source,Sender,Recipients, MessageSubject -AutoSize

You can see detail information about this email from it.
