We support an environment in which DPM 2019 UR 2 is installed on Windows Server 2019 with direct attached storage (volume of SAS disks in a RAID 5 configuration). This configuration is taking several hours to backup Hyper-V VMs instead of the minutes
that it took with DPM 2016 on Windows Server 2012 R2. We have read through forum posts and attempted various suggestions (including regularly restarting the server) but the slow performance persists.
What can we do to improve performance in this environment?
