Outlook 2010 view other user's email accounts RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 7 64 bit system from Dell.  Brand new. Installed Office Professional Plus 32bit.   All updates installed.

Set up Outllook 2010 with my POP and IMAP accounts (about 12) and use my own pst file.

configured my wife's POP and IMAP accounts - total of 2 - using a different PST file.

When my wife opens up Outlook on her Windows login my IMAP accounts are listed in the folder tree and there are constant prompts for the password for these accounts.  No emails are visible at these IMAP accounts but the prompts are very annoying.

Also annoying is that when I try to open up Outlook 2010 in my Windows login that I  am unable to open my PST file and get error message that the file has been modified by another workstation.  If I then close her Outlook session I can open the file.

Not sure if these 2 problems are connected but they are odd and annoying to both off us.

    Any solution appreciated.

  • Hi,

What add ins do you have installed?

Something is accessing your pst - it could be sync software for a smartphone, antivirus scanner, windows search, or other software that accesses outlook's data. Disable all the add-ins.

Also you can Perform the scan pst, if there are any errors in the pst file, it would be fixed.

Follow the article to perform scan pst:

If this fails, check in clean boot. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
