I have a very strange thing that came up. I set my project plan NOT to calculate costs in settings as I manually enter it. So when a resources did not charge me for work planned I do not enter cost in the actual field. However when I pull the report in
Power BI my costs were different. I then went into Project and made all the actual cost lines that I was not charged for 0 which solved my problem. However I do not think this should have happened, any idea on this?
No sorry I msised that bit, the Power BI Report will just show what is in the OData API. The Odata API will just match what is in the Project scheduled providing the project has been published successfully.
This is by design / expected as Power BI will just be reading the Odata values for the cost data and project will calculate that actual cost values based on the task progress and planned cost.
