oData feeds in Project online RRS feed

  • Question

  • Beginner's question:

    On the Paul Mather's blog (Thanks to Paul!) I found this oData feed:

    https://<serverurl>/pwa/_api/ProjectData/Projects()?$filter=ProjectType ne 7&$select=ProjectId,ProjectName,ProjectOwnerName,ProjectStartDate,ProjectFinishDate,ProjectWork, ProjectCost,TotalCost,ProjectQuality,ProjectSchedule,ProjectCost,ProjectResource

    When I try to use it in Excel, I get the error:

    If I shorten the string like this, it is accepted:

    https://<serverurl>/pwa/_api/ProjectData/Projects()?$filter=ProjectType ne 7&$select=ProjectId,ProjectName,ProjectOwnerName,ProjectStartDate,ProjectFinishDate,ProjectWork,ProjectCost,TotalCost

    Why? What could be the issue?

    Thanks

    NB: Same issue for all the oData feeds in the example

    Note: I'm running Project Online English version 32 bit on Win 8.1 64 bit French

  • If you shorten it even further to /pwa/_api/ProjectData then you'll be prompted to make your own selections. You can always type them in by hand if you'd like. That's how I'd add/remove a table after making the initial connection.

    You can find a listing of your tables by going to this URL: https://<serverurl>/sites/pwa/_api/ProjectData

    Or, if you want more information about the fields in the tables: <a href="https:///sites/pwa/_api/ProjectData/$metadata">https://<serverurl>/sites/pwa/_api/ProjectData/$metadata

  • Hi,

    I suspect that the last part of Paul's oData query retreives custom fields specific to Paul's tenant. That would explain why it returns an error on your tenant since you might not have the same project custom fields. Particularly ProjectQuality seems to be an health project custom indicator.

    Hope this helps,
