Email alert when going over budgeted time RRS feed

  • Hi, 

    I want to setup an automatic alert or email notification when we are going over budgeted time.

    We are right now using the baseline column to show our initial budgeted time, the work column for scheduled work time, and the actual work column for actual work done. We have created a custom field that calculates variance from budget (baseline - actual work) and then indicates whether we are on/over budget. Is there any way to set a notification/alert when this custom field changes? 

    Or are there other ways to setup tracking of actual vs budget, so that we can receive alerts or notifications?
