Microsoft Project Error - HPV Solo Reader RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There,

I am working on a helpdesk where a user is having the following error "Error mppfile.reprocess: mppfile process index was outside the bounds of the array" appear every time she tries to open any MS Project document using a HPV Solo reader. We have checked that other users can open the documents, and they can so it appears that it is only her who is affected.

Please could someone tell me what is possibly causing this to happen and what can be done to resolve it?

    Many thanks

  • Hello,

    Need more info:
    1. Is user having MS project Std or Professional version? If yes, please post in below forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projectprofessional2010general/threads

    2. Is user connecting to MS project server 2010/2007 via Project Profesional ?
    3. If this is just a Std desktop version, Did you try to repair or re-install the same?

  • It now appears that the user does not actually have Project on her copmuter and is using HPV Solo reader to view them. Could the issue be that she needs to have Project installed for it to work?

  • Hi Cydonija,

This must be an error message from the HPV Solo Reader. So your best option would be to contact HPV support (http://www.projectviewercentral.com)

Maybe the mpp file is in a non-supported format (trying to open a 2010 mpp file on an old version of the viewer)?

    Regards,
    Hans

  • Try saving the mpp as a MSP2007 file. I've had this problem when I have manually scheduled tasks  in MSP2010, saving as a 2007 file sets them to automatic. you could try changing the manually scheduled task to automatic 2010 and see if that works too but it may take a while if you have to do them individually (I haven't tried this so don't know if it will then open in viewer).
