Mismatch between duration and Gantt chart lengt RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using MS Project latest version (online MS subscription), MS Office 356 ProPlus, MS Surface Book 2

MS Project is set up for 24/7 work i.e. 24-hrs. per day, 7-days per week, 365-days per year (unless I missed something).

Timeline on Gantt chart is set up for days, i.e. start first activity on day 1.

The length of Gantt chart bars do not match the input duration, i.e. 48-hrs. duration should show 2-days on the Gantt chart length.  24-hrs. duration shows 3-days length on the Gantt chart.

    Hope someone can assist.

  • Everything is held in MS Project in minutes, and then the number of days duration is displayed based upon the start and finish time of the task, divided by the number of hours per day, to determine the number of "days" duration; so, 24 hours  = 3 days because 24/8 = 3.   If using a 24h day calendar, then change the number of hours per day to be 24 in your settings.
