Shortcuts for customized menu in screen reader mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using Microsoft project 2013.

We have a VSTO addin for MS Project 2010/2013/2016, where it imports/exports data from an external application.

We created our own menu item (with some submenus) in Microsoft project. Menu is a dropdown list unlike other menus in project 2013 which follow ribbon pattern.

In screen reader mode, while testing the keyboard accessibility,JAWS reads out shortcut keys for the menu and submenu item we created but those shortcuts doesn't work(it works for the default menu present in MS Project). And also it reads the shortcut only for some of the submenus and not all(no letter of the menu title is underlined to denote the shortcut). We did not provide any shortcut keys for the menu explicitly.

Does Microsoft Project ,by default provides shortcut to the menu created by user, if yes,how to remove these shortcuts?

Is there any other specific forum/section to post this accessibility related questions.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
