Project Server - Update the Existing Project Schedule RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are using Project Server 2019. We have created few project without project schedule. Now we have the updated project schedule (.mpp) in the local PC with the baseline. We want to update the existing schedule in Project Server with the updated copy in the local PC. Is there is any way to update the plan without copy paste the columns (task, start, finish, duration etc.) where after pasting it changes. Also we have the baseline in the local copy. Is there is any way to update the schedule.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

Yes, you can overwrite the blank project with the planned and baselined project.  Launch Microsoft Project and connect to Project Web App.  Open the MPP file that contains the completed schedule.  Click File > Save As.  On the Save As page of the Backstage, click the Save button.  In the Save to Project Web App dialog, enter the SAME NAME as the existing blank project, enter custom field values as needed, and then click the Save button.  In the warning dialog, click the OK button to overwrite the existing project with the new project.  If the existing project was already published, publish the new project as well.  Hope this helps.
