Soap exception error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    We are trying to update data in a lookup table using the update lookup table method but getting SOAP exception error as below:

    out side SoAP errorSystem.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Unhandled Communication Fault occurred

       at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)

       at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters)

       at EPMTools.Library.ProjectServerLookupTable.LookupTable.UpdateLookupTables(LookupTableDataSet ltds, Boolean validateOnly, Boolean autoCheckIn, Int32 language) in d:\Deb_Pojectserver\EPM Tools\Main\EPMTools.Solution\EPMTools.Library\Web References\ProjectServerLookupTable\Reference.cs:line 454

    It was working fine till last year, but for past few months it stopped working suddenly.

    Please if someone could help me with this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Komal Agarwal07,

    This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with customizing or programming Microsoft Project, a project management application but that is the sole focus of this forum. I suggest you re-post to the following forum:

  • Hi John,

    We are using the LookupTable.UpdateLookupTables method to update as below:

    [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapDocumentMethodAttribute("" +
                "LookupTables", RequestNamespace="", ResponseNamespace="", Use=System.Web.Services.Description.SoapBindingUse.Literal, ParameterStyle=System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapParameterStyle.Wrapped)]
            public void UpdateLookupTables(LookupTableDataSet ltds, bool validateOnly, bool autoCheckIn, int language) {

                Helper.Trace.WriteMessage("5.1. Inside update referecne memthod...");
                EventLog eventlog = new EventLog();
                eventlog.Source = "CostCodeSync";

                     this.Invoke("UpdateLookupTables", new object[] {

    and getting the error as mentioned above. Please advise.

    Okay, sorry, what you are trying to do is beyond my scope of knowledge. Hopefully someone else will jump in with an answer.
