Problem instalation SQL Server

Pergunta
-
I have the following problem with the installation of SQL server 2005:
An instance with the same-name is already installed on this computer. To proceed with SQL Server Setup, Provide a unique instance name.
but it has a detail there is no instance installed on my computer ..
I'm working with windows server 2008 and I am trying to install SQL Server 2005, however before that I had installed SQL Server 2012, which caused all this trouble.
How do I uninstalled all of SQL Server, including the MMC snap-in?

You should install sql server 2005 with other instance name because you already have sql server 2012 and the default instance in both version is the same name - MSSQLSERVER
In the install settings you need change the instance name.

Aldo,
Instance name should be unique on a server not depending of version at all! Think about that, for an application the only thing you have to specify is a connection string witch contains just server name and instance name, so, you cannot have two instance, even if different version named MSSQLSERVER on same server.

Aldo,
You must install a named instance of sql server. Or if you need it as default instance you must unistall the sql server 2012 instance.
