The Windows Planning and PC ecosystem team is recruiting a solid test engineer to help ensure that the Windows ecosystem is ready for the next generation of services,
applications, hardware and devices. This position will cover Windows, Windows Live and Internet explorer products and the ideal candidate will have solid technical skills and partner facing abilities.
The position will administrate an infrastructure of Windows servers and client machines, deploy/capture system images, set up our latest internal test tools, execute tests and
analyze Windows traces (ETW) producing consolidated reports on the performance and reliability of the systems under research. Applicants must have a very good understanding of O.S.
Fundamentals, good coding skills (scripting) and a strong desire to innovate. Besides, good team and communication skills plus attention to detail are a must.
The key responsibilities of this job include:
- Help administer and maintain our System Integration Laboratory infrastructure in Brazil;
- Design, write and execute test cases (automated and manual) against partner systems, analyzing the results and generating partner ready reports;
- Work with external and internal stakeholders to drive issues/bugs into resolution.
- Manage ongoing relationships with existing partners on bug resolution with the appropriate quality and reliability standards.
- Provide technical guidance to Ecosystem partners based on the testing results. Interface with the Windows Product Unit when necessary;
- Write test automation scripts and develop basic Windows and Web applications;
Requirements
- BS in computer science or a related degree;
- Ability to come up-to-speed quickly on technical challenges, excellent communication, negotiation skills, demonstrated detail-orientation, diligence and work planning;
- Good project management skills being able to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
- A track record of self-education/learning;
- Demonstrated 2+ years working in test or test related activities such as building a test infrastructure/laboratory, creating test cases, executing hardware testing
or equivalent;
- Customer focus, including experience working with customers and partners;
- Development experience on Web technologies: Scripting, Javascript/ECMAScript, VBScript, HTML5, XHTML, XAML, XML, CSS3; Powershell knowledge is a plus;
- .NET Platform and OOP knowledge; C#/Java skills are a plus;
- Exposure to software development processes, patterns and practices;
- Ability to effectively communicate in spoken and written form both in Portuguese and English.
