Windows XP Partitions - Disk Management vs Minitool Partition Wizard?

  • I'm trying to help out a friend, he's got a Windows XP notebook that runs legacy software (won't work on anything newer) the 100GB hard drive is partitioned into 3 parts (as per disk management MMC see picture 1) the EISA config partition, Acer C: 45.00GB and AcerData D: 45.22GB. He's only using about 20% of C: and D: is almost full. What he'd like to to take say 10GB of space from C: and move it to D:. I've often done things like this with Mini Tool Partition Wizard but when I boot off of the bootable CD and it analyzes the partitions on the disk is shows that there is no third partition (where AcerData is in Disk Management) and simply shows unallocated 45.2GB.

Any idea why the AcerData partition does now show up in Partition Wizard? I considered converting the two FAT32 partitions to NTFS but my friend seems doubtful that the software will work properly on NTFS. Any idea's on how to fix this?
