  • Hello Erricharl,

Glad to help, and before we move on, it would be helpful if you could provide some details.

    • Is this a clean OS on your win2003 R2 server?
    • If not, which roles or features are on this server? Have you uninstalled some roles or features before?

    Look forward to your feedback.

    Best regards,

    Ray Jia

  • It is a clean installation. I only have iss as role installed during the installation of wsus.

I'm thinking if after installing windows and installing a language pack in Spanish and could affect this.

  • Hello Erricharl,

    Thanks for the details.

Before we move on, it is important to confirm the installation process of WSUS first.

    • You installed the 2003 R2, and then installed the SP2, and then you installed WSUS, and then you started updating with Windows Update, is it right? In your post, it seem that you install WSUS twice.

    • During the updating, did other updates install correctly except KB2463332?

You could download the update from Microsoft Update Catalog manually and install it in clean boot mode as following steps.

    1. Download KB2463332 from this link:

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=2463332

Remember to choose x64 Edition for Windows Server 2003.

    1. Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.
    3. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
    4. Under Selective Startup, clear the Load Startup Items check box.
    5. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
    6. Click OK.
    7. When you are prompted, click Restart.
    8. Try install KB2463332 again.

However, feel free to give feedback whether it works or not.

  • I have reinstalled again windows 2003 r2 64bits from scratch and now I have not installed any language pack so I have the English version. Then I installed sp2. Then I installed all the windows updates from windows update and everything went fine. Finally I have installed Report viewer 2008, IIS, and WSUS 3.0 SP2.
I have re-run windows update and I have installed some new updates and the windows internal database sp4, but it still gives the same error.

My server is not in AD. It's only in a workgroup.

  • Hello Erricharl

Try re-index the WSUS Database by following link:
