Hyper-V 2016 Manager - "An error occurred while attempting to connect to server .."

    When we try to remotely connect to any other HV hosts (2012 R2 or 2016 hosts) from 2016 HV host we get error "An error occurred while attempting to connect to server .. check VMM service is running and that you are authorized to connect to server. Contact administrator of Authorization policy for computer". At the same time we are able to connect to 2016 HV  hosts from 2012 R2 hosts w/o any issues.

  • I'm having the same issue.

    last update installed is KB4088787 on 3-20-2018.

    After removing this update error still present.

  • After running this command in PowerShell problem is solved:

    MOFCOMP %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsVirtualization.V2.mof

  • I reffered forum "https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1cc9115d-5fce-4a64-a90f-d3fdc008b861/windows-10-build-10240-managing-hyperv-on-2012-r2-datacenter-cannot-connect?forum=winserverhyperv", but this solution for another similar error message and I don't think it will hep us. We have this issue only from 3 HV 2016 nodes in one cluster. But other 2016 HV nodes in other clusters are working fine.
