Considerations for assigning a disk to a role

    Întrebare

  • Hi,

I have a Windows 2012 R2 symmetric failover cluster that is already in production. After installing, one of the disks was not assigned to any role (it's sitting there in Available Storage).

It was fine at the time, but now I have a role which depends on that disk so I'll have to assign things properly; problem is, it's a busy production server and downtimes are not an option; also, I have no QA environment to test on. Does anyone know of any consideration before adding a volume to a role?

    Thanks!

    Gabriele
