windows update errors 0x800706be 0x800706ba and TrustedInstaller.exe fault RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have some problems with one windows server 2008 R2 x64.

    Fresh installed 2 weeks ago.

    Last week run the windows update process and after downloading and installing some of the important updates was asking for restart to complete the installation. After restart I notice that some updates failed

    And then windows update cannot download any other updates. It remains in Downloading … 0%.

     

    Windows error codes: 0x800706BE and 0x800706BA

     

    First errors:

    Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706be: Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB978542).

     

    Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706ba: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2416471).

     

    Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800706ba: Security Update for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Edition (KB979687).

     

     

    I tried to run manually an update, after download locally but didn’t work. The update process stuck on checking for windows updates.

    I also noticed an error in system log viewer that appears quite often:

    Can you please help me solve these problems!

    The server is in production and is very important. All restarts or downtime must be planned…

     

    As I read on forums and social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums some other guys had same problems. But I don’t want to break anything as this is a live production server.

    The server has Worry-Free Business Security Antivirus x86.

    Incearca asa:

    Metoda 1:

    1. Mergi in pagina: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5e7dcf51-74f1-43cc-aece-0cd5df05ddb7&displaylang=en

    2. Desacrca Windows6.1-KB2416471-x64.msu

    3. Cand ajunge la tine pe masina, mergi la Properties si vezi daca are cluva Block sau Unblock. Daca e Unblock apasa butonul. Daca nu nu te intereseaza.

    4. Ruleaza-l ca administrator pe masina ta.

    Metoda 2:

    Verifica daca nu cumva ai instalat pe server si .Net Framework 4.0. Daca da. Da-l jos cu uninstall, pune update-ul dupa metoda de mai sus, da restart, si apoi instalezi .Net 4.0 daca ai nevoie de el...

    Metoda 3:

    Daca ai IIS pe calculator. Opreste IIS-ul cu iisreset /stop. Instaleaza Update-ul dupa metoda 1 si apoi porneste IIS-ul cu iisreset /start

    Sper sa-ti reuseasca. Spor!
