How do you get list of all folders and sub folders from Azure Data Lake Gen1 using PowerShell? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    any guidelines gratefully received.

I'm a newbie to psh, I've tried to get a list of all of the folders and sub-folders from one of our Gen1 storage in Azure Data Lake.

I've connected ok and got basic folders - but not quite sure how to drill down.

Ultimately i'd like to see number of lines in folders but that is for another day I suspect.

I'm using VScode and Az - I looked at advice from a Microsoft article on this - Get-AzDataLakeStoreChildItem.

    Code is:
    Get-AzDataLakeStoreChildItem -AccountName "XXXXADLSNAME" -Path "/"

But how do I turn that into a loop and then drill down through to the bottom of the tree? I'm sure it's obvious but there didn't seem to be a recurse option with this.

     Thanks.

  • There is no recurse so you must query for each storage set individually.
