bitlocker recovery password says that I have one digit group error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Please help! I cannot open my memory stick as it was encrypted on my workplace computer (as they said they didn't want any unsafe memory sticks being used) anyway, I went to open my memory stick the other day with the password I have used for months and it says it is the wrong password. I found the 48 digit recovery code (no idea how) and now it says that one of the digits is wrong in the sets of digits I have put in!!!! I have tried to put in different combinations of the number but it won't open. Please can someone help me as I am panicking that I will never be able to access this memory stick again and it has years worth of work on it!

  • Grab a calculator and check for each 6-digit-block whether is is divisible by 11. The block that is not divisible by 11 is the wrong block. Of course this should be just a typo.
